Magmar

Reasons Why?

Magmar is a Fire type Pokemon. In the anime Paul had a Magmar which first appeared in a flashback of his Gym battle with Maylene in Lost Leader Strategy!. Its actual appearance was in Aiding the Enemy!, together with its Trainer. It was used in A Pyramiding Rage! to battle Brandon and his Regice. Magmar gave up on Registeel, despite having a type-advantage and soon lost to Brandon's Regirock, resulting in Paul losing the battle. It evolved into a Magmortar prior to pedal to the Mettlel. In the game Magmar is a very strong Pokemon to have and is able to learn sizable amount of moves. Some of the moves Magmar is able to use are Flame Thrower, Focus Blast and Thunder Punch.

Dreamworld Ability!

Magmar's dreamworld ability is ''Vital Spirit'' this prevents the ability-bearer from falling asleep. This means that it also prevents the use of the move Rest. If a Pokemon with ''Vital Spirit'' is leading the party Pokemon, wild Pokemon are 50% more likely to be higher level. This is a very good ability to have however Magmar's other ability ''Flame Body'' is more useful as If a Pokemon with ''Flame Body'' is hit by a move that makes contact, there is a 30% chance the attacker will become burned. This could change the whole tide of a battle. There is also an additional effect outside of battle and it is If a Pokemon with ''Flame Body'' (or Magma Armor) and a Pokemon Egg are both in the party Pokemon, the number of steps required to hatch the egg are halved.

Most Powerful move

Most powerful move : Fire Blast
Power : 120
PP : 5
Accuracy : 85 percent

Fire Blast deals damage and has a 10% chance of burning the target. Pokemon with the ability Water Veil cannot be burned. The target is attacked with an intense blast of all-consuming fire. It may also leave the target with a burn. This is a very powerful move but like I have said time and time again that with a move as powerful as this there is a drawback. The drawback of this move is that the accuracy is rubbish. And this could effect the results of a battle therefore it is a risky move to use altogether. Some people would use this as a finisher move and it is in some ways a bit of a ''gamble''. Overall I think having Flame Thrower instead of Fire Blast would be better as it has 100 percent accuracy and is also very powerful.
