Beginners Guide to Pokemon Types

There are 19 types of Pokemon and Pokemon moves. Currently there are 19 type of Pokemon and one ore will be revealed. The types of Pokemon are Normal, Fire, Water, Ground, Rock, Steel, Ice, Ghost, Psychic, ???, Grass, Poison, Electric, Flying, Fighting, Dark, Bug, Dragon, Fairy and the 20th unknown type. Now I will talk about all the types individually. I will talk about type weaknesses, Strengths and possibly neutrality between the types.

First of all I’ll talk about Normal type Pokemon. Normal types Pokemon have average stats. Normal type moves have little effect on Ground and Steel types. And Ghost type moves have no effect on Normal Types. However Fighting type moves are super effective against Normal type Pokemon. Two of the strongest moves in the whole of the Pokemon series are ''Hyper Beam'' and ''Giga Impact''.

Fire type moves are super effective against Grass, Ice, Bug and Steel type Pokemon. However Fire type moves are not effective against Fire, Water, Rock and Dragon type Pokemon. Fire, Grass, Ice, Bug and Steel type moves have little to no effect on Fire type Pokemon. But Water, Ground and Rock type moves are super effective against Fire type Pokemon.

Water type moves are super effective against Fire, Ground and Rock type Pokemon. However Water type moves are not effective against Water, Dragon and Grass type Pokemon. Fire, Water, Ice, Steel type moves have little to no effect on Water type Pokemon. Whereas Electric and Grass type moves are super effective against Water type Pokemon.

Ground type moves are super effective against Fire, Electric, Poison, Rock and Steel type Pokemon. However Ground type moves are not very effective against Grass and Bug type Pokemon. Ground type moves have no effect on Flying type Pokemon and Electric type moves have no effect against Ground type Pokemon. Poison and Rock type moves have little to no effect on Ground type Pokemon. Whereas Water, Grass and Ice type moves are super effective against Ground type Pokemon.

Rock type moves are super effective against Flying, Ice, Bug and Fire type Pokemon. However Rock type moves are not very effective against Fighting Ground and Steel type Pokemon. Normal Poison, Fire and Flying type moves have little to no effect on Rock type Pokemon. Whereas Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground and Steel type moves are super effective against Rock type Pokemon.

Steel type moves are super effective against Ice and Rock type Pokemon. However Steel type moves are not very effective against Fire, Water, Electric and Steel type Pokemon. Poison type moves have no effects on Steel type Pokemon. Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dragon, Dark and Steel have little to no effect on Steel type Pokemon. Whereas Fire, Fighting and Ground type moves are super effective against Steel type Pokemon.

Ice type moves are super effective against Grass, Ground, Flying and Dragon type Pokemon. However Ice type moves are not very effective against Fire, Water, Ice and Steel type Pokemon. Ice types are not very effective against themselves. Whereas Fire, Fighting, Rock and Steel type moves are very effective against Ice type Pokemon.

Ghost type moves are super effective against Psychic and Ghost type Pokemon. However Ghost type moves are not very effective against Dark and Steel types. Ghost type moves have no effect on Normal type Pokemon. Normal and Psychic type Pokemon have no effect on Ghost type moves unless a move like foresight is used which allows Normal and Fighting type moves to hit their opponent. Poison and Bug type moves are not very effective on Ghost type Pokemon. Whereas Ghost and Dark type move are very effective against Ghost type Pokemon.

Psychic type moves are super effective against Fighting and Poison types. However Psychic type moves are not very effective against Steel and Psychic type Pokemon. Psychic type moves have no effect on Dark type Pokemon. Fighting and Psychic type moves are not very effective on Psychic type Pokemon. Whereas Bug, Ghost and Dark type Pokemon are very effective against Psychic type Pokemon.

Eggs are ??? type Pokemon they have no weaknesses and strengths. However the move curse is also a ??? type move this move is different for Ghost type Pokemon as it splits there HP in half however it reduces its victims life very quickly. 

Grass type moves are super effective against Water, Ground and Rock type Pokemon. However Grass type moves are not very effective against Fire, Grass, Poison, Flying, Bug, Dragon and Steel type Pokemon. Water, Electric, Grass and Ground type moves are not very effective against Grass type Pokemon. Whereas Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying and Bug type moves are very effective against Grass type Pokemon

Poison type move are very effective against Grass type Pokemon. However Poison type move are not very effective against Poison, Ground, Rock and Ghost type Pokemon. Poison type have no effect on Steel type Pokemon. Grass, Fighting, Poison, Bug type moves are not very effective against Poison type Pokemon. Whereas Ground and Psychic type Pokemon are super effective against Poison type Pokemon.

Electric type moves are super effective against Water and Flying types. However Electric type moves are not very effective against Electric, Grass and Dragon type Pokemon. Electric type moves don't have any effect against Ground  type Pokemon. Electric  Flying and Steel type moves are not very effective against Electric type Pokemon. Whereas Ground type moves are super effective against Electric type Pokemon.

Flying type moves are super effective against Grass, Fighting and Bug type Pokemon. However Flying type moves are not very effective against Electric, Rock and Steel type Pokemon . Ground type moves have no effect on Flying type Pokemon. Grass, Fighting and Bug type moves are not very effective against Flying type Pokemon. Whereas Electric, Ice and Rock type moves are very effective against Flying type Pokemon.

Fighting type moves are super effective against normal, Ice, Rock, Dark and Steel type Pokemon. However Fighting type moves are not very effective against Poison, Flying, Psychic and Bug type Pokemon. Fighting type moves have no effect against Ghost type Pokemon. Bug, Rock and Dark type moves are not very effective against Fighting type Pokemon. Whereas Flying and Psychic type moves are super effective against Fighting type Pokemon.

Dark type moves are super effective against Psychic and Ghost type Pokemon.  However Dark type moves are not very effective against Fighting, Dark and Steel type Pokemon. Psychic type moves have no effect on Dark type Pokemon.  Ghost and Dark type moves are not very effective against Dark type Pokemon. Whereas Fighting and Bug type moves are super effective against Dark type Pokemon.

Bug type moves are super effective against Grass, Psychic and Dark type Pokemon. However Bug type moves are not very effective against Fire, Fighting, Poison, Flying, Ghost and Steel type Pokemon. Grass, Psychic and Ground type moves are not very effective against Bug type Pokemon. Whereas Flying, Fire and Rock type moves are super effective against Bug type Pokemon.

Dragon type moves are super effective against Dragon type Pokemon. However Dragon type moves are not very effective against Steel type Pokemon. Fire, Water, Electric and Grass type move are not very effective against Dragon type moves. Whereas Ice, Dragon and Fairy type moves are super effective against Dragon type Pokemon.

All we know about the Fairy type that it is super effective against Dragon type Pokemon. However we don't know its weaknesses as it hasn't been revealed. 

A new type of Pokemon will be released and it seems Mewthree, Xerneas and Yveltal will be of this type. Lets talk about the diamond type weaknesses and strength of the diamond type. The diamond type is week against rock and ground types but strong against steel and ghost type Pokemon.
