Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

Today I will be going over the new Pokemon X and Y updates we have received this week.

Evolve your Pokemon!

Many of your Pokémon will evolve into more powerful Pokémon capable of learning different moves. Pokémon commonly evolve simply by leveling up to a certain point, when they evolve automatically. But there are some Pokémon that evolve by other means that may be quite tricky to accomplish!

There are many ways for your Pokemon to evolve. Some Pokémon can evolve, which changes their appearance and dramatically increases their stats. Many Pokémon evolve when they level up, but there are other ways to evolve that can differ from Pokémon to Pokémon. For example, some Pokémon may evolve when they are traded, and some may evolve by using special items.

We can also link trade to evolve for example Some Pokémon evolve when they are traded to others. Haunter evolves into Gengar when it is traded!

There are also Pokémon that evolve by using special items. What items may trigger Evolution can vary from Pokémon to Pokémon. An example of this is Pikachu. You must use a thunder stone on Pikachu for it to evolve into Raichu.

There is a new way to evolve which is exclusive for only Pokemon X and Y Pokemon. There appear to be Pokémon in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y that evolve in ways never before seen! One example is Pancham and Pangoro, but how do they evolve?

All about abilities

Every Pokémon has a special power called an Ability. Some Abilities naturally take effect in battle, without the Trainer needing to do anything. Sometimes two Pokémon of the same species can have different Abilities.
Some Abilities, such as Xerneas's Fairy Aura or Yveltal's Dark Aura, affect not only the Pokémon that has the Ability but also other Pokémon in battle. These kinds of Abilities can be an important factor in which Trainer emerges victorious!

Game exclusive Pokemon

There are some Pokémon that appear only in Pokémon X or in Pokémon Y, but not both! Xerneas and Yveltal are some of the first Pokémon introduced that are exclusive to one game or the other. To obtain every Pokémon, you'll need to trade with other players! For example...

Clauncher can only be found in Pokemon X.

Whereas Skrelp can only be found in Pokemon Y.

The legendary Pokemon types have been released.

Two newly discovered Legendary Pokémon arrive in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Much mystery still surrounds the Legendary Xerneas and Yveltal, but their importance in your journey will surely be revealed!

Yveltal

Xerneas's ability is Fairy Aura, which strengthens Fairy type moves for all Pokemon in battle, including your opponents Pokemon. Xerneas is a Fairy type itself so it gets a power up however this ability powers up it's opponents as well.

Xerneas can learn an exclusive Geomancy move. Watch the beauty of Geomancy as rainbow colored lights erupts from the ground around Xerneas. Xerneas is the Pokemon of life however its counterpart Yveltal is the destruction Pokemon.

Yveltal

With Yveltal's Dark Aura ability, the power of Dark type moves increases for all Pokemon in play. This includes your opponents Pokemon as well  This is quite a good ability however like Xerneas it has the flaw of also infecting your opponents Pokemon as well.

Oblivion Wing is a move that only Yveltal can learn. After flying into the sky Yveltal releases a beam of red light that scorches the ground. This seems to me to be a two phase attack as it has to fly up in to the air to do this attack.

Yveltal's Dark Aura ability is particularly valuable in double and triple battles when facing multiple opponents at once. As it powers up all your Dark type Pokemon. Yveltal is a Dark/Flying type Pokemon.

New Pokemon have been released!

Pangora

Pangoro is the evolved form of Pancham. It's a cantankerous Pokémon, but it has a strong heart and doesn't forgive those who pick on the weak. For all those who don't know what the word cantankerous means. It means something that is Bad-tempered, argumentative, and uncooperative. I have a feeling this Pokemon won't listen to its trainers commands.

Inkay

Transmitters above Inkay's eyes have the ability to drain the will to fight from other Pokémon. It uses this skill to run and hide when attacked by stronger enemies. Inkay's ability is ''Contrary''. Which means that if any effect that would lower its stats  the opposite would happen. Therefore raising it's stats instead. The transmitters above Inkay's eyes are also used to communicate with other Pokemon of it's kind. Topsy-Turvy is a new Dark type move that Inkay can learn. This move reverses all stat changes affecting a target Pokemon. this is very useful in double battles.

Malamar

The evolved form of Inkay, Malamar wields some of the strongest hypnotic powers of any Pokémon and can make its opponents bend to its will. Malamar looks different from Inkay and has different stats however its ''Contrary'' ability is still the same. It is also a Dark Psychic type. There is never a shortage of trainers attempting to use Malamar to achieve there own nefarious purposes. Malamar can learn Hypnosis, which lulls opponents to sleep. Most Pokemon can do virtually nothing whilst they are asleep.

Swirlix

Exclusive to Pokémon X, Swirlix loves sweets and eats nothing else, making its body as sweet and sticky as cotton candy. I have a feeling this Pokemon will be like Vanilite from Generation 5. Swirlix's ''Sweet Veil'' ability is new to Pokemon X and Y. It keeps Swirlix's Pokemon tea-mates from falling asleep. In battle Swirlix shoots out strings of cotton candy like sticky threads to bind its opponents.

Spritzee the sprite in my words. Spritzee is a Pokémon that can be found in the wild only in Pokémon Y. It emits a unique fragrance from its body, and any who smell it fall under its spell. Spritzee's fragrance changes based on its diet. Spritzee can learn a new move Draining Kiss which is a new Fairy Type move. Draining kiss damages the target while restoring dome HP to its user.

I hope you enjoyed the exclusives. There will be more shortly.

Thank You
