Pokemon of the day...

Ampharos

Reasons Why?

Ampharos is an Electric type Pokemon. Jasmine has an Ampharos that lights up the Glitter Lighthouse in Olivine City which first appeared in Fight for the Light!. It was sick so Ash and his friends went to Cianwood City to pick up medicine. This Ampharos was nicknamed "Sparkle" in the dub. Another Ampharos appeared in Manectric Charge under the ownership of Watt. It was used to battle May's SkittyCorey's father has an Ampharos which battled against Corey's Charizard, Don, as part of Don's training in Those Darn Electabuzz!. Another Ampharos appeared in Frozen on Their Tracks!. It helps in driving a train using its electricity. An Ampharos appeared in The Light of Floccesy Ranch! under the ownership of Ellie . In the game Amphoros is a very weak Pokemon and has very low stats but to make up for this it has exceptional speed. Amphoros is also able to learn a lager variety of moves. It can also learn the HM moves Fly and Surf via Pokemon events. Some of the moves Pikachu is able to learn are Thunder Punch, Fire Punch and Ice Punch.

Dreamworld Ability!

Ampharos' dreamworld ability is ''Lightningrod''. ''Lightningrod'' forces all single-target Electric-type moves - used by any other Pokemon on the field - to target this Pokemon, and with 100% accuracy. This includes the status move Thunder Wave. The ability is most useful in double/triple battles. When hit by the move, it deals no damage to the ability-bearer but raises its Special Attack by one stage. Stats can be raised to a maximum of +6 stages each. ''Lightningrod'' will activate for an Electric-type Hidden Power, but not Electric-type JudgmentThe ability is overridden by other Pokemon becoming the center of attention from the moves Follow Me or Rage PowderIn Generations 3-4Lightningrod did not increase Special Attack nor give immunity to Electric-type attacks. It also did not activate for Hidden Power. This is an amazing ability for Ampharos to have as it is unaffected by Electric type moves and it's Special Attack raises every time it is attacked by an electric type move. Ampharos' other ability is ''Static'' If a Pokemon with ''Static'' is hit by a move making contact, there is a 30% chance the foe will become paralyzed. ''Static'' also has an outside effect. If a Pokemon with ''Static'' is leading the party Pokemon, it is 50% more likely that a wild Pokemon encountered will be Electric type. This ability like the first could change the whole tide of the battle in your favor as paralysis is in my opinion the worst effect of a move as your speed lowers plus you may not be able to attack. Amphoros' final ability is ''Plus''. This Ups Sp. Atk if another Pokémon has the Plus or Minus ability. This isn't very useful as there aren't many people who have this ability The only known Pokemon are Plus and Minus and Klink and it's evolution forms and of course Mareep and it's evolutions which includes Ampharos.

Most Powerful move

Most powerful move : Thunder
Power : 120
PP : 10
Accuracy : 70 percent

Thunder deals damage and has a 30% chance of paralyzing the target. Pokemon with the ability Limber cannot be paralyzed. If used during rain, its accuracy rises to 100%. Conversely, if used during intense sunlight, its accuracy drops to 50%. Thunder can hit Pokemon using Fly and Bounce, the latter dealing double damage. In Diamond/Pearl only, Thunder has a 30% chance of breaking through Protect or Detect during rain. In Generation 1, the chance of paralysis was 10%. This is an amazing move however like I have always said with a move this powerful there is a problem. The problem with this move is the accuracy and the PP as they are both very low and because of this this move isn't as good as it could be. But when it comes to PP we all know we can increase this using a PP up. Overall I would rather use Thunderbolt as it is also very strong and a hundred percent accurate and has very high PP. Pikachu is able to learn thunderbolt very early on in the games. (To be honest it is in the first move set).
