Big Wave Beach is off Route 2 and serves as a hangout spot for surfers. Instead of taking the Ferry, you can come here and Mantine Surf to the next island!

When you first arrive, there will be a surfer looking down at the beach. Talk to him to start a battle.

Continue down the path to Big Wave Beach. Talk to the girl in the yellow swimsuit and she’ll tell you about Mantine Surfing. You won’t be able to try this until you complete your first Grand Trial on the island.



Behind her is a path that leads up a rock and behind the shops. Circle all the way around and you’ll find a White Herb near the Palm tree and rock. Head back to the beach and on the other side of the beach is a cave but you won’t be able to fully explore this until you get the Poke Ride Lapras. When you try to leave the beach, a cutscene will initiate with Team Skull. Return to the beach to fight them off.

Return from Hau'oli City



On your way to Big Wave Beach, you’ll pass by a gentleman by the name of Samson Oak. He’ll tell you about Totem Stickers and how collecting them can help you receive Totem Pokemon.



Head back down to the beach to the girl in the yellow swimsuit and you’ll meet up with Hau. Walk up to the Mantine to surf and continue your journey at Heahea City on Akala Island Trials!
